The upcoming Sorghum Festival set for Saturday, October 14, will be the perfect opportunity to check on the restoration project. The festival begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m.
The festival is held every second Saturday in October at the Museum. It showcases sorghum production from the growing of the sorghum cane to squeezing the juice to cooking it into syrup in the museum’s cook room.
The festival features local vendors, live music, Free tours of the museum and a host of demonstrations.
While your there be sure to ty a free hot biscuit smothered in butter and sorghum. You can also sample some locally baked sorghum cookies.
