New Heritage House Museum Director Named

Karen Hamilton, President of the Board of Directors of the Heritage House Museum of Montgomery County, is pleased to announce the promotion of Karen Rouse to the position of Museum Director. This appointment was effective April 15th and follows the recent retire- ment of the previous Director – Emilie Kinney who served in that capacity for the 14 Years.

Ms. Rouse has previously served as Collection Coordinator with the mu- seum for the past 3 years with overall responsibilities for managing the acces- sion, cataloging & identification pro- cesses related to the existing and newly acquired artifacts and photographs.

Board President Hamilton stated, “We look forward to Karen assuming the additional responsibilities as museum director utilizing the many skills she has developed in her previous position.”

Karen, a native of Van Buren, Arkan- sas, is the wife of the Rev. David Rouse, co-pastor of the Pencil Bluff Baptist Church. They have lived in Montgom- ery County for the past 10 years.

Ms. Rouse stated, “ I have many new ideas to grow the Heritage House of Montgomery County into the future while continuing to preserve the rich his- tory of Montgomery County. We need volunteers to accomplish this and I will be recruiting new people to be actively involved in this process.”

Museum open hours are currently Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday as volunteers are available.
